How much does CertyPay cost?

There are no setup fees, no monthly charges, and no hidden costs. We take a flat 5% from each transaction (a launch rate — normally 6%). You receive the remaining 95% directly to your bank account. You only pay when you get paid.

When does the money reach my bank account?

Funds settle to your bank account within 2 working days of each payment. There's nothing to request or withdraw — it happens automatically after every transaction.

Can I invite collaborators to help manage things?

Yes — this is one of the ways we make simplicity and transparency real. Invite co-organisers, co-founders, or team leads as Admins so you can share the work without sharing your password. You can also add trusted members, partners, board members, or accountants as Observers — they get read-only access so everyone sees the same numbers. One source of truth, no disputes.

Can people pay in installments?

Yes. You choose whether to allow installments and set the minimum first payment. CertyPay tracks every balance for you automatically. For events, attendees receive their QR ticket once they've paid in full. For chamas and businesses, you can see exactly who owes a balance at a glance, and every payment triggers an automatic confirmation to the member.

How does gate verification work (for events)?

Every fully paid ticket gets a unique QR code. At the gate, your team opens the scanner on any phone and scans the code. It instantly confirms whether the ticket is valid and hasn't already been used. No app download needed — it works in the browser.

Do the people paying need to create an account?

Accepted Answer

No. Payers just enter their name, email, and phone number when they pay. No account, no password, no friction. They can optionally sign in later to see all their payments in one place.

Is my money safe?

All payments are processed by Paystack, one of Africa's most trusted payment providers. Funds go directly to your bank account — CertyPay never holds your money. We also require organiser identity verification to protect everyone involved.

Why do I need to verify my identity?

Identity verification (KYC) is a quick one-time step before you can collect payments. It takes a few minutes — just a valid ID and a selfie. This protects the people paying you by confirming you're a real organiser, and it's valid for 12 months.
